1. What is your name, and how would you introduce yourself as a RAR Institute student?

Answer:
My name is Idir Islam, and my RAR Institute Student ID is 202647. I am currently studying for an Associate Degree in Political Science at the Rohingya Academic Research Institute (RAR Institute). I am interested in education, Political Science, society, governance, and the development of my community. As a student, I am committed to attending my classes regularly, completing my assignments, improving my academic knowledge, and developing the skills necessary for my future studies and community contribution.

2. What is your previous educational background?

Answer:
I passed my Matriculation Examination in 2023 at Prami High School, a private school serving the Rohingya community in Camp 16, Bangladesh. After completing my previous education, I wanted to continue developing my academic knowledge, particularly in a field that would help me better understand society and community affairs.

3. When did you join RAR Institute, and why did you choose Political Science?

Answer:
I joined RAR Institute on 15 March 2026. I chose Political Science because I believe it is an important field for understanding government, society, democracy, governance, human rights, political institutions, and relationships within communities. Before joining RAR Institute, I had limited opportunities to formally study Political Science. I initially thought that Political Science would be difficult, but the structured lectures and accessible online learning environment at RAR Institute helped me understand the subjects more easily. I particularly appreciated being able to study through my smartphone and participate in lessons through Zoom.

4. What was your academic knowledge like before joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Before joining RAR Institute, my understanding of government, democracy, human rights, society, and community relationships was limited. I had general knowledge about these subjects but did not have a structured academic understanding of them. Through my studies at RAR Institute, I have gradually developed a clearer understanding of how governments and political institution’s function and how political decisions and social issues can influence people’s daily lives and communities.

5. What challenges did you face when you first started studying at RAR Institute?

Answer:
One of the main challenges I faced when I first joined RAR Institute was submitting assignments. I was not initially familiar with the academic process of preparing and submitting assignments online. However, with guidance from instructors and continued practice, I gradually became more comfortable with the process. This experience taught me the importance of discipline, time management, responsibility, and following academic instructions.

6. How do you feel about RAR Institute’s online learning environment?

Answer:
I feel comfortable studying through Zoom meetings and participating in online classes. I also enjoy meeting my instructors and classmates during academic sessions. I try to attend every lesson because I am genuinely interested in learning. The online format has provided me with an opportunity to continue higher education using digital technology, even when attending a traditional physical university is difficult.

7. What academic skills have you developed at RAR Institute?

Answer:
I have developed several academic skills through my studies. I have learned how to understand questions, organize my answers, study according to specific questions, prepare assignments, and submit academic work properly. I have also improved my ability to read academic materials and understand important concepts. These skills have helped me become more independent and confident as a student.

8. What have you gained from the Associate Degree in Political Science?

Answer:
The Associate Degree in Political Science has given me a stronger understanding of political and social issues. I have learned that political decisions and discussions can affect society and people’s daily lives. My studies have also improved my critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and understanding of social and political issues. I have developed a greater understanding of concepts such as equality, justice, citizenship, participation, governance, and human rights.

9. How has studying Political Science changed your understanding of society and politics?

Answer:
Studying Political Science has changed the way I understand politics, society, governance, relationships, and contemporary issues. Previously, I often understood these issues from a general perspective. Now, I can examine them through an academic perspective. I have learned to consider issues such as human rights, employment, access to public services, governance, social relationships, and individual opinions in a more structured way. This academic knowledge has encouraged me to listen to different perspectives and communicate my own ideas respectfully.

10. How would you describe the instructors at RAR Institute?

Answer:
The instructors at RAR Institute are knowledgeable and supportive. Courses are assigned to instructors according to their academic knowledge and relevant areas of expertise. They explain lessons in ways that students can understand and encourage students to participate in discussions. I appreciate the opportunity to learn from instructors who make the online classroom environment interactive and encourage students to ask questions and express their ideas.

11. How would you describe the professors and course-wise instructors at RAR Institute?

Answer:
The professors and course-wise instructors in each semester at RAR Institute have contributed significantly to my academic development. Each course is taught by an instructor with relevant knowledge and experience in the subject area. They explain lessons in a clear, organized, and understandable way, which helps students follow the academic content more easily. The instructors also create a friendly and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their ideas, and participating in discussions. Their guidance, feedback, and encouragement have helped me improve my academic knowledge, confidence, discipline, and learning skills. I particularly appreciate the way different instructors use examples, presentations, discussions, and practical activities to make the lessons more understandable and engaging. Through their support, I have become more interested in my studies and more confident in participating in academic activities.

12. How have your communication and leadership skills improved?

Answer:
My communication, presentation, public-speaking, teamwork, and leadership skills have improved through my studies and participation in academic activities. I have learned how to express my ideas more clearly, listen to other people, and communicate respectfully with people from different backgrounds. Through presentations and discussions, I have become more confident speaking in front of others. Teamwork activities have taught me to cooperate with classmates, share responsibilities, and work together to solve problems. I have also developed leadership skills by taking responsibility, supporting team members, making decisions, and helping others.

13. What major academic achievements or improvements have you experienced?

Answer:
Since joining RAR Institute, I have made progress in several areas, including English speaking, listening, reading and writing, presentation skills, slide reading, communication, and public speaking. I have also developed a better understanding of society, politics, governance, human rights, and social relationships. Participating in online university-level learning has given me greater confidence in continuing my academic journey.

14. How do you plan to use your education in the future?

Answer:
I hope to continue my education and develop myself academically and personally. I believe that regular attendance, consistent study, and active participation will help me achieve my future academic goals. I also want to use my knowledge and communication skills to contribute positively to my community. I have already tried to support people around me, including helping people who are experiencing financial difficulties and sharing messages about peace and cooperation.

15. What subjects and areas have been important in your development at RAR Institute?

Answer:
Throughout my studies, I have been introduced to important areas of Political Science, including Foundations of Political Science, Government and Politics, Forms and Systems of Government, Political Institutions and Political Processes, Governance, Accountability, and Contemporary Politics. These subjects have helped me understand political structures and processes more systematically. I have also been able to connect what I learn in class with everyday life, community activities, discussions, teaching, public speaking, and academic writing.

16. Looking back, how would you describe your overall development at RAR Institute?

Answer:
Looking back from the day I joined RAR Institute until today, I can see meaningful development in my academic knowledge, confidence, communication, and personal skills. RAR Institute has helped me become more comfortable with academic learning and has encouraged me to participate actively in lessons. I have learned how to read academic materials, prepare assignments, present ideas, communicate with others, and think more carefully about social and political issues. My journey is still continuing, and I hope to keep improving myself through education and contribute positively to my community in the future.

MY ACADEMIC JOURNEY AT RAR-INSTITUTE

My journey at the Rohingya Academic Research Institute began on 15 March 2026, when I joined the Associate Degree in Political Science programme. At the beginning, I was interested in Political Science but had limited formal knowledge of the subject. I also faced challenges with academic assignments and online learning procedures. As I continued attending classes, participating in discussions, completing assignments, and learning from instructors, my confidence gradually increased. The online learning environment allowed me to study from home using my smartphone and participate in lessons with instructors and classmates through Zoom.

My studies introduced me to important areas including government and politics, political institutions, forms and systems of government, political processes, governance, accountability, and contemporary political issues. These subjects helped me move from general understanding toward a more structured academic perspective. At the same time, my development has not been limited to Political Science. I have improved my English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as my presentation, public-speaking, communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. I have learned to express my ideas more clearly, listen to others, participate in discussions, and take greater responsibility for my academic work.

RAR Institute has also helped me understand that education is not only about gaining knowledge for examinations. It is also about developing confidence, discipline, communication, critical thinking, and the ability to use knowledge constructively. I have started applying what I learn in my interactions with friends, community members, public discussions, teaching activities, and academic writing.

Looking back on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to study Political Science through RAR Institute. My academic journey is still in progress, and I remain committed to attending classes, completing my assignments, improving my skills, and continuing my education. I hope that the knowledge and skills I gain through RAR Institute will help me achieve my future academic goals and allow me to make a meaningful and positive contribution to my community. RAR Institute has become an important part of my educational journey, and I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and develop as a student.
