Rohingya Identity Crisis and Citizenship Issues in Myanmar
The Rohingya, a Muslim minority group in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, have faced decades of systemic discrimination, violence, and denial of citizenship by the Myanmar government. Despite their historical presence in the region, the Rohingya have been labeled as illegal immigrants and stripped of basic rights, rendering them stateless. This crisis has led to severe human rights violations, including mass displacements, violence, and a large-scale refugee crisis. This paper explores the roots of the Rohingya identity crisis, the ongoing challenges they face, and the urgent need for international intervention to protect their rights and dignity.
