1. What is your full name, and how would you introduce yourself as a RAR Institute student?

Answer:
My name is Mohammed Solim. I am an active student of the Rohingya Academic Research Institute (RAR-Institute), currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Political Science. I have a strong ambition for my education and a deep hope that the knowledge and skills I gain will allow me to contribute meaningfully to the development of my community.

2. What is your Student ID, and which programme are you currently studying at RAR Institute?

Answer:
My Student ID is RAR-AD-202601, and I am currently studying in the Associate Degree in Political Science Programme at RAR-Institute.

3. What is your educational background before joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Before joining RAR Institute, I completed my Matriculation examination in 2024–2025 from Life Light Community High School in Camp 14. After completing my matriculation, I wanted to continue my education and develop stronger academic knowledge and skills.

4. When did you join RAR Institute, and what motivated you to begin your studies?

Answer:
I joined RAR Institute on 8 May 2026. However, my academic connection with RAR-Institute began earlier, when I attended a one-month Refugee Law course in 2025. That experience encouraged me to continue my education at RAR-Institute. When RAR Institute announced applications for the Associate Degree in Political Science, I decided to apply because I have a strong interest in politics, governance, human rights, international relations, and community development. I believe studying Political Science can help me better understand political and social issues and contribute more effectively to my community.

5. What were your academic knowledge, confidence, and skills like before joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Before joining RAR Institute, I was interested in learning and continuing my education, but I had limited opportunities to develop formal academic skills. I had little experience in academic writing, research, and presentations. Although I had motivation and a willingness to learn, I needed greater academic guidance, practice, and exposure to a structured learning environment.

6. What challenges did you face when you first started your studies at RAR Institute?

Answer:
When I first began my studies at RAR-Institute, I experienced several challenges, particularly with writing academic assignments and regularly attending classes. Adjusting to academic expectations and managing my responsibilities required effort and discipline. However, through continued practice and participation, I gradually became more comfortable with the learning process.

7. How have your academic confidence and participation developed since joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
My academic confidence has improved significantly since joining RAR-Institute. I am now more comfortable asking questions, participating in discussions, submitting assignments, and expressing my ideas. I have become more willing to participate actively in the classroom and take greater responsibility for my own learning.

8. How has your academic writing, referencing, critical thinking, and research skills developed?

Answer:
Through regular academic practice, I have become better at organizing my ideas, developing arguments, supporting my views with evidence, and using appropriate references. My critical-thinking skills have also improved. I now try to examine information carefully, consider different perspectives, and develop my understanding based on evidence rather than relying only on one viewpoint.

9. How has your ability to search for, evaluate, and use academic sources improved?

Answer:
I have learned to examine whether academic sources are reliable, relevant, and useful before using them in my work. I also try to compare information from different sources rather than depending on a single source. This has helped me become more careful and analytical when collecting information for assignments and academic activities.

10. What have you learned through assignments, presentations, examinations, research projects, and classroom activities?

Answer:
Assignments, presentations, examinations, research activities, and classroom discussions have helped me improve my academic writing, communication, time management, confidence, and sense of responsibility. These activities have also taught me to become more actively involved in my education and to take greater responsibility for my own learning.

11. What knowledge and understanding have you gained from the Associate Degree in Political Science?

Answer:
Through the Associate Degree in Political Science, I have been learning about politics, government, power, authority, democracy, governance, and the separation of powers within government. These subjects helping me develop a deeper understanding of political and social issues and the way different institutions and forms of authority operate.

12. How has studying Political Science changed your understanding of politics, society, governance, international relations, and current issues?

Answer:
Studying Political Science has changed the way I look at current political and social issues. I now try to understand not only what is happening but also the reasons, institutions, systems, and different perspectives behind particular issues. My studies have encouraged me to think more critically and analytically about politics, governance, society, and international affairs.

13. How have RAR Institute instructors and designated course instructors supported and guided your academic development?

Answer:
The lectures, explanations, feedback, and encouragement provided by RAR Institute instructors have helped me understand difficult topics and improve my academic work. Their guidance has also encouraged me to become a more independent learner. I appreciate the contribution of all my semester-wise professors and instructors, whose teaching and academic guidance have supported my development throughout my studies.

14. Which instructor, course, lesson, or academic activity has had the greatest positive impact on your development, and why?

Answer:
The Political Science lessons have had a particularly strong impact on my development because they have changed the way I understand government policies and the roles of different government departments and institutions. These lessons have encouraged me to ask questions, examine issues from different perspectives, and think more critically. I am grateful to all the professors and instructors who have been contributing to my academic development and supporting me throughout my learning journey.

15. How have your communication, presentation, public-speaking, teamwork, and leadership skills improved?

Answer:
Class discussions, presentations, and group activities have helped me become more confident in communication and public speaking. They have also strengthened my ability to work with others, listen to different ideas, cooperate in group activities, and take responsibility. These experiences have contributed to the development of my teamwork and leadership skills.

16. What major academic achievement, milestone, or personal improvement have you experienced since joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Completing some courses and receiving my RAR-Institute Student ID Card have been meaningful achievements for me. However, my greatest personal improvement has been the confidence I have gained as a student. I have become more comfortable participating in academic activities, expressing my ideas, completing assignments, and continuing my education with greater confidence.

17. How has your education at RAR-Institute influenced your future academic, career, and community goals?

Answer:
My education at RAR-Institute has encouraged me to continue developing my knowledge in Political Science, Human Rights, and Research. I hope to build on what I have learned and pursue further academic opportunities in the future. I also want to use my knowledge and skills to contribute to my community and humanitarian work. My goal is to connect education with meaningful community contribution and to use my academic development to better understand and respond to issues affecting my community.

18. Looking back from the day you joined RAR Institute until today, how would you describe your overall academic, personal, and professional development?

Answer:
Looking back on my journey at RAR Institute, I believe I have developed significantly in academic confidence, writing, research awareness, communication, and critical thinking. When I started, I had a strong interest in learning but limited experience with academic writing, research, assignments, and presentations. Over time, through classes, discussions, assignments, presentations, and guidance from instructors, I have become a more confident and active learner.

My studies in Political Science have also changed the way I understand politics, government, governance, human rights, and social issues. I have learned to ask questions, consider different perspectives, and look more deeply at the institutions and reasons behind political and social problems. Most importantly, my journey at RAR-Institute has given me greater confidence as a student and clearer goals for my future. My experience has encouraged me to continue learning, develop my academic and research abilities, and prepare myself for future contributions to my community.

My Journey at RAR Institute

My journey at RAR-Institute began with a one-month Refugee Law course in 2025, which introduced me to a learning environment that encouraged me to continue my academic education. After completing that course, I became interested in pursuing a longer academic programme. When the Associate Degree in Political Science was announced, I applied because of my interest in politics, governance, human rights, international relations, and community development.

Since officially joining the programme on 8 May 2026, I have experienced both challenges and growth. The early difficulties I faced with assignments and class participation gradually became opportunities to improve my academic discipline and confidence. Through continued learning and the support of instructors, I have developed stronger skills in writing, research, communication, critical thinking, and academic participation.

Studying Political Science has also expanded the way I understand the world around me. I have learned to examine political and social issues more carefully, consider different perspectives, and think about the roles of institutions, government, power, and governance. Today, I see my education at RAR Institute not simply as a degree programme, but as an important part of my personal and academic development. It has helped me become a more confident learner and has given me clearer goals for continuing my education and contributing to my community. My journey at RAR Institute is still continuing, and I hope to carry the knowledge, confidence, and skills I am developing into my future academic, professional, humanitarian, and community work.
