Answer:
My name is Mohammed Adaish. I am a teacher and a research student at the Rohingya Academic Research Institute (RAR Institute). As a RAR-Institute student, I consider myself a committed learner with a strong interest in education, academic research, personal development, and community development. My experience at RAR Institute has encouraged me to strengthen my academic abilities and develop myself as an educator and researcher.

2. What is your Student ID, and which program(s) are you currently studying at RAR Institute?

Answer:
My Student ID is 523017. I am currently studying in the Diploma in Academic Research Studies program at RAR Institute. The program has provided me with an opportunity to develop my understanding of academic research and strengthen the practical skills required for conducting systematic and ethical research.

3. What is your educational background before joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Before joining RAR Institute, I completed my Matriculation examination in 2023 from Education Garden Community High School, located in the Rohingya Refugee Camp. My previous education provided me with a basic academic foundation and encouraged me to continue developing my knowledge and skills through further education.

4. When did you join RAR Institute, and what motivated you to begin your studies?

Answer:
I joined RAR Institute on 7 June 2023. I was motivated by my strong interest in education, academic research, and community development. In addition, some of my friends were already studying at RAR Institute, and their experiences encouraged me to join. I believed that studying at RAR Institute would help me improve academically and prepare myself for future educational and professional opportunities.

5. What were your academic knowledge, confidence, and skills like before joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
Before joining RAR Institute, I had a basic academic foundation and a strong interest in learning, but my academic knowledge and confidence were still developing. Although I had practical experience as a teacher, I needed to strengthen my academic writing, research methodology, critical thinking, referencing, and presentation skills. I therefore considered the Diploma program an important opportunity for my academic development.

6. What challenges did you face when you first started your studies at RAR Institute?

Answer:
When I first started my studies, I faced challenges in understanding academic research methods, writing in an academic style, using appropriate references, and critically analysing information. Balancing my studies with my teaching and community responsibilities was also challenging. However, I remained committed to my studies and gradually overcame these difficulties through regular practice, self-learning, and guidance from my instructors.

7. How have your academic confidence and participation developed since joining RAR Institute?

Answer:
My academic confidence and participation have improved significantly since joining RAR Institute. I have become more comfortable expressing my ideas, participating in academic discussions, giving presentations, completing assignments, and discussing research topics. I am now more confident in sharing my views and presenting academic information in a clear and organised manner.

8. What important knowledge and skills have you gained from the Diploma in Academic Research Studies?

Answer:
Through the Diploma in Academic Research Studies, I have gained important knowledge and practical skills in research methodology, academic writing, critical thinking, literature review, data collection and analysis, academic referencing, and research ethics. I have learned how to identify research problems, formulate research questions and objectives, select appropriate research methods, evaluate academic sources, and present findings systematically. The program has also strengthened my communication, presentation, analytical, and independent-learning skills.

9. How has the Diploma program improved your understanding of research methodology and academic research?

Answer:
The Diploma program has significantly improved my understanding of research methodology and the overall research process. I have learned how to identify research problems, formulate research questions and objectives, conduct literature reviews, select appropriate research methods, collect and analyse data, and present findings systematically. I have also developed a better understanding of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, research ethics, academic writing, referencing, and critical analysis. Most importantly, the program has taught me how to approach research in a structured, evidence-based, and academically responsible manner.

10. How has your academic writing, referencing, critical thinking, and research skills developed?

Answer:
My academic writing and research skills have developed considerably through the Diploma program. I have learned how to organise ideas logically, use appropriate academic language, develop clear arguments, and present information systematically. My referencing skills have also improved through learning how to properly cite and acknowledge academic sources. The program has strengthened my critical-thinking ability by encouraging me to examine evidence, compare different perspectives, identify research gaps, and develop conclusions based on evidence.

Answer:
My ability to search for, evaluate, and use academic sources has improved significantly. I have learned how to identify relevant and reliable information from academic journals, books, research papers, and credible online sources. I now understand that academic sources should be evaluated according to factors such as credibility, relevance, evidence, methodology, currency, and purpose. I have also learned how to compare sources, synthesise information, identify research gaps, and integrate evidence into academic writing through proper citation and referencing.

12. What have you learned through assignments, presentations, examinations, research projects, and classroom activities?

Answer:
Through assignments, presentations, examinations, research projects, and classroom activities, I have developed both theoretical knowledge and practical academic skills. Assignments have improved my academic writing and analytical abilities. Presentations have strengthened my communication skills and confidence. Examinations have helped me assess my understanding of research concepts. Research projects have provided practical experience in identifying research problems, reviewing literature, collecting information, analysing evidence, and presenting findings.

Classroom discussions and activities have also strengthened my teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Answer:
Looking back from the day I joined RAR Institute until today, I would describe my experience as a meaningful and progressive academic journey. Academically, I have developed a stronger understanding of research methodology, academic writing, critical thinking, referencing, literature review, and evidence-based analysis. I have also gained practical experience through assignments, presentations, examinations, classroom activities, and research projects.

Personally, the program has helped me become more confident, disciplined, communicative, and motivated to continue learning. Professionally, the knowledge and skills I have developed have strengthened my identity and aspirations as a teacher and researcher. Overall, my journey at RAR Institute has helped me grow academically, personally, and professionally.
